TAWANI Foundation, and its founder, Lieutenant Colonel Jennifer N. Pritzker (Retired), has awarded a $200,000 grant to Injustice Watch, a Chicago-based nonprofit newsroom dedicated to investigating equity and justice within the legal system. The grant will support the development and publication of Injustice Watch’s 2026 judicial election guide for Cook County, Illinois. First introduced by the organization, these nonpartisan guides are designed to equip voters with clear, comprehensive information about judicial candidates and elections.
Injustice Watch does not make recommendations or offer endorsements in its election guides. Judicial elections in Cook County can have significant impacts on the county and its citizens, and the nonprofit’s goal is to provide neutral but comprehensive information on candidates to help voters make informed decisions.
“We are proud to support Injustice Watch and their efforts to make the judicial election process more accessible and understandable for voters,” said LTC Jennifer Pritzker USA (RET). “Their commitment to clear, nonpartisan information reflects our values of education, transparency, and civic engagement.”
TAWANI Foundation is the philanthropic arm of TAWANI Enterprises, a Chicago-based firm with businesses spanning property management, hospitality, publishing, and military history, preservation, and education. The Foundation supports non-profits with grants across five main categories: education, gender & human sexuality, cultural institutions & preservation, environmental initiatives, and health & human services. In addition, the TAWANI Foundation provides emergency support to fund critical needs related to current events.
"Injustice Watch is focused on increasing transparency in the Cook County court system through our non-partisan investigative reporting,” said Nathan Armstrong, Injustice Watch’s Executive Director. “This generous grant will propel our work in the years ahead, which includes creating Judicial Election Guides for the 2026 Primary and General Elections. We are honored by the partnership and support of TAWANI Foundation, which will help us continue to strengthen our democracy by providing needed accountability for our court system."
