Pritzker Family Values
“Continuing my family’s tradition of putting personal philanthropy into service for the public good, the TAWANI Foundation and Pritzker Military Foundation strive to make grants that empower the organizations we support to realize and build on their missions.” – COL (IL) Jennifer N. Pritzker, IL ARNG (Retired)
Both Foundations count education as the cornerstone of philanthropy. Whether through contributions to research, programming, initiatives for students or the general public, it is the catalyst for all giving, big and small.

With this emphasis on exploration through education, COL Pritzker’s philosophy is to create a true partnership with grantees. This two-way street allows for flexibility, agility in the face of obstacles and above all, mutual understanding. As the idiom goes, a rising tide lifts all boats. This principle of partnership does not come at the exclusion of others. On the contrary, COL Pritzker believes we’re at our best when we’re a part of a team, and seeks out opportunities to be one of many seated at the table, ready to put in the work to make change.
Partnerships take time and energy, which is why applications to each Foundation are by invitation only and using a crawl, walk, run approach.
